PEOPLE: (pêp'l)n. A body of persons united by a
common character, culture, or sentiment; the individuals
collectively of any characteristic group, taken as distinct
from or conceived apart from the unity of the group
as subject to a common government. Most peoples are
made up of minglings of races, tribes, and religious and
